What is CNG & CBG?
Cleaner Fuels for a Greener Future
At IMP Green India, we are driving India’s clean fuel revolution with our commitment to Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Compressed Bio-Gas (CBG). These fuels are powerful alternatives to diesel and petrol—helping reduce emissions, lower costs, and build a sustainable tomorrow.
What is CNG?
CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) is a clean-burning fuel made by compressing natural gas—mainly methane—to less than 1% of its volume at standard atmospheric pressure. It is commonly used as a fuel for vehicles and industrial applications.
Benefits of CNG:
- Lower carbon emissions than petrol/diesel
- Higher engine efficiency
- Reduced fuel costs
- Safe and non-toxic
What is CBG?
CBG (Compressed Bio-Gas), also known as Bio-CNG, is a renewable form of CNG produced by processing organic waste such as agricultural residue, animal waste, and food waste through anaerobic digestion.
CBG has similar properties and calorific value to CNG, making it a sustainable substitute for conventional fossil fuels.
Benefits of CBG:
- 100% renewable and eco-friendly
- Reduces dependency on fossil fuels
- Helps manage organic waste efficiently
- Encourages rural income and employment
- Qualifies for government incentives and carbon credits
Applications of CNG & CBG
- Automotive fuel (cars, buses, trucks, auto-rickshaws)
- Industrial heating in boilers and furnaces
- Cooking fuel for commercial kitchens
- Backup energy for generators
- Fertilizer production using bio-slurry (a by-product of CBG)
Why IMP Green India?
At IMP Green India, we:
- Set up and operate CBG plant infrastructure across India
- Provide turnkey project development for bio-CNG production
- Facilitate waste-to-energy conversion solutions
